I protest because the people currently running our government are actively working to destroy what made us an admittedly imperfect democracy, and turning us into an authoritarian oligarchy, run for the benefit of the rich, corporations and white “Christians”, and nobody else. They are destroying this country, the functioning of our government and our reputation worldwide, trying to erase women’s rights, and our history of striving for equality and racial justice. I feel I have to take a stand.
